Deep facial cleansing is one of the most fundamental treatments, so it’s no surprise that the term “hygienic treatment” has become widely used. Whether or not you’ve previously had skin issues, this treatment, performed more or less frequently, is recommended for everyone.
A hygienic deep facial cleansing is an essential prerequisite for all other facial treatments. When pores are clogged with impurities, oils, and dead skin cells, it’s not just that makeup will shine through more quickly; the more significant issue is that skincare becomes less effective. No serum or cream we use at home will penetrate the skin as it would if it were clean. Simply put, skincare either doesn’t work or its effects are diminished.
What does our ultrasonic spatula cleansing treatment look like?
The treatment begins with the usual removal of makeup and surface impurities. After that, we warm the face and open the pores with a gentle heat mask, which is a much more pleasant method than directing hot steam at the face.
Next, we proceed with ultrasonic spatula cleansing, which is extremely effective and completely painless. It removes blackheads, excess oil (sebum), and cleanses pores. At the same time, the ultrasonic spatula performs a gentle exfoliation, leaving the skin instantly smooth, velvety, clean, and refreshed after this method. There are no irritations or noticeable redness that sometimes follow ”traditional treatments.”
The treatment concludes as pleasantly as it begins. It includes a natural and non-invasive facial disinfection with ozone, followed by an appropriate facial mask and protective cream.
Why do some cleansing treatments include manual comedo extraction?
The proper term for manually squeezing blackheads or pimples is comedo extraction. While the ultrasonic spatula is often sufficient for some parts of the face, even in cleaner skin, especially if a hygienic treatment hasn’t been done for a long time, additional manual blackhead removal may sometimes be necessary. This is usually around the forehead, nostrils, and chin creases.
For individuals with oily and problematic skin, comedo extraction can be a crucial part of the treatment, professionally cleaning and adequately closing inflamed pores to significantly reduce and eventually eliminate inflammatory processes.
Is there something new added to this type of treatment?
Yes. If desired or needed, we can also use a biostimulative LED lamp. This lamp has the same function as the final face mask: to soothe the skin and minimize any immediate ”redness” after the treatment.
How often?
- Young people with very problematic skin, at the start of acne and pimple treatment, need deep cleanings once to twice a month, and later less frequently.
- Mature clients with oily skin and larger pores are recommended to have it once a month to once every three months.
- It’s not surprising that even clients with extremely clean skin, where impurities are hardly visible to the naked eye, feel the need to do it seasonally, especially after summer holidays, where the face has been stressed by saltwater, sun, heat…
What treatments can be combined with a ”hygienic treatment”?
Deep facial cleansing is often combined with oxygen treatment, further promoting oxygenation, hydration, and skin revitalization. Oxygen treatment already includes a mild hygienic component performed with an ultrasonic spatula, and the intensity of this part of the treatment can be adjusted to the individual needs of the skin.
Facial cleansing, without a recovery break for the skin, can also be combined with many other treatments, which are discussed during mandatory consultations.
How long does recovery take, and what does it look like?
With a skilled cosmetician, it’s acceptable for the face to have slight or somewhat more intense ”redness,” depending on skin sensitivity. This subsides rather quickly, in a few hours or by the next day. We advise you not to wash your face until the morning so the final mask and cream stay on your skin to protect it.
What’s not acceptable is intense redness from pressing on certain spots on the face, or worse, surface scratches on the skin. The exception is only spots where there was an ”encapsulated blackhead” that the cosmetician releases with a needle. In that place, a micro-scab forms, which peels off on its own after 2-3 days without leaving marks.
Another effect, 3 or 4 days after this treatment, mainly in people with thicker skin, can be micro-flaking, which passes in a day or two. It rarely occurs, and the worst that can happen in this case is that liquid foundation looks ”dry” on the face – but this quickly passes, so resist the urge to do a home exfoliation.
